Brave the rapids

The Adventure: Expect to get wet from head to toe while whitewater rafting with Superior Whitewater's professionally guided tours in Carlton, near Duluth. Superior Whitewater Rafting will take you on your own adventure down the St. Louis River. Get a group together or just head up by yourself; any combination of four, five or six people can share a raft and if you have less than four, the company will pair you up with others. Worried about your safety going through the big rapids? Superior Whitewater can claim a union of both adventure and safety: in 25 years their worst accident has been a broken ankle. Looking for a calmer ride? Look into their new sea kayak adventures.
Doing Your Part: Part of the fun of whitewater rafting is that you can't just 'go with the flow.' You need to stay alert and follow directions during the excursion. “It is truly participatory. Everyone is involved,” says George Stefanyshyn from Superior Whitewater. “It's not just a ride, it is a paddling adventure.”
