Candice Grossklaus
THEN: Grossklaus joined KTTC in 2000 as a reporter and as an anchor and producer for the morning and noon newscasts. She left Rochester in 2004 for a job as weekend anchor and reporter for WBRE News in northeast Pennsylvania (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton).
NOW: She is a newlywed and now goes by the name of Candice Kelly while working as a main anchor for WBRE’s 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts.
ROCHESTER MEMORIES: One of the more off-beat stories Grossklaus covered in Rochester was about a local woman who had a very unique hobby: collecting pens. “I’ve never seen so many ink pens in one place in my life!” says Grossklaus. “It fascinated me how her collection of pens in her kitchen drawer eventually turned into a huge hobby and took over her basement; at last check, she was shooting for a world record.”
Grossklaus is enjoying her life in Pennsylvania and has adopted the state as her own, but she does remember Rochester fondly, especially the people. “I miss my fellow Minnesotans.”
