Taking the wait off

City Looks Salon and Spa

By Kyle Hebert

City Looks Salon and Spa at Apache Mall sports not one, but three separate waiting areas. There are two for the salon business, and another more secluded area for spa customers.

The two salon areas feature rows of chairs surrounding a coffee table. There’s a nearby fireplace that is lit during the colder months. Above the fireplace is a row of awards, including accolades from the salon’s parent company, Regis, and from past “Best Of Rochester” issues of Rochester Magazine. The salon’s “Experience Bar” sits against one wall where guests are able to sample some of the Aveda products used and sold at City Looks.

The spa waiting area is meant to relax the guests and serves as a prelude to the entire spa experience. The music is soothing and matches the mood of the water trickling from nearby stone fountains. “Our goal is to create an experience that stimulates all the senses as soon as our guests walk through the door,” says Jessica Curran, Operations Manager.

Coffee, tea and water are provided in all three waiting areas.
