MAC Studio Fix Foundation.
When it comes to spending money on myself, I'm pretty thrifty (I think most moms are!), but this is one product I will not compromise on. I can fix my face in just a few seconds and it works great for on-air and off (I just go a shade darker under the studio lights). It is a powder foundation that gives solid, quick coverage. Available at Macy’s.
MAC Mocha lipstick.
It is a great color for people with fair/strawberry blonde coloring and it has a matte finish so it wears for hours. And with the MAC recycling program, you get a free lipstick every time you return six used makeup containers. Available at Macy’s.
Maybelline “The Falsies” Volum’ Express.
My lashes are thin and translucent, so they need all the oomph they can get! I love Maybelline "The Falsies" Volum' Express mascara in blackest black. It transforms my lashes. Available at a variety of drugstores and other major retailers.
Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer.
When I discovered Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer in SPF 15, I was hooked. I use it twice a day. It does not cause any extra shine and the sun protection is a bonus. Available at a variety of drugstores.
Mixed Chicks Leave-in Conditioner.
I discovered my favorite new hair potion while researching products for my daughter's beautiful Ethiopian curls: Mixed Chicks Leave-in Conditioner. It's an alcohol-free product that locks in curl and moisture (no gel or spray needed). I use it on my daughter every time I wash her hair and I use it myself on the weekends when I let my hair air-dry and be wavy. Our curls are much softer with this product than before. Available at Target, starting May 2012.
