Saddle up

The Adventure: Stone House Stables horse trail rides offer visitors of all ages a chance to relax in nature. With 15 horses typically on site, Stone House Stables will have the perfect horse for you. Once you get assigned your horse according to ability, you will set out on a four-mile ride with up to eight other riders and your guide. Your ride will take you through flat land along a creek, through a wooded area and to a bluff overlooking Highway 52. During your trail ride, the guide will tell you about the history of the surrounding areas--including the 1880 barn that the horses call home—and about the wildlife in the area. For more advanced riders, stable owners Kim-Ann and Jordy Johns offer trail rides with a steeper climb.
Why It's A Blast: “It is a lot of fun for folks who don’t normally get to do this type of activity,” Jordy says. “We typically hear, ‘I never knew that all this was here to enjoy.’”
