The best way to go ...
By Megan Malugani
Prescotts’ Death by Chocolate is a rich, creamy flourless chocolate torte. Its key ingredients are Swiss dark chocolate, cream, eggs, and sugar. “It’s called Death by Chocolate because it is almost too much,” says co-owner/chef Christopher Rohe. It’s the perfect ending to any meal served at Prescotts, and “it’s great with a glass of dessert wine,” he says.
Other sweet things: Death by Chocolate is one of the top-selling desserts at Prescotts, along with creme brulee and baked Alaska—a thin layer of chocolate cake with homemade pistachio ice cream topped with toasted meringue.
Don’t go changin’: “All our desserts are wonderful ... they’re all so good we can’t take anything off because people get mad,” Rohe says.
Prescotts: 1201 S. Broadway, 536-7775.
