The Skate Park at Silver Lake Park

By Megan Malugani

Alex Freetly, 10, and Maddie Freetly, 9
When they go: A few times a month. Their parents usually bring them on weekend mornings, before it gets busy. “I would want to come here every day if I could,” Maddie says.
Mixin’ it up: Maddie usually rides a scooter. Alex rides a scooter, a skateboard, or a RipStik.
Why they love the Skate Park: “I like going on those big [ramps] back and forth and going up and coming back down,” Maddie says. Alex likes the Skate Park because “there’s lots of different things you can do here.”
Favorite tricks: “I can sorta do a wheelie on my RipStik,” Alex says. Both Alex and Maddie enjoy watching the teens catch big air when doing jumps on their bikes.
Is it scary going so fast down the ramps?: “No, it’s fun!” Maddie says.
