Horse heaven: Sarah started riding when she was 8. “I was really into horses. I used to call them gentle giants.”
She’s a natural: Sarah goes to The Stables every Monday for a lesson. Her instructor says she has so much “natural talent” that she takes lessons with an older group of girls.
Why Sarah loves riding: “I like the wind in my hair … I like to ride fast, like in a canter.”
Favorite horse: Sarah’s favorite horse is named Lola (pictured below). “She’s very kind and she’s not naughty,” she says.
On the other hand (or hoof): While Lola is the model of good behavior, another horse Sarah rides at The Stables named Chip has a mischievous streak. “He will try to buck when going over jumps” and “nip at you when you tighten up the girth,” Sarah says. Will your parents buy you a horse someday?: “Maybe.” In the meantime, “I’m planning on coming out here to The Stables a lot.”
